"Our Gear !"

One of the moreexpensive investments for a disc jockey service is equipment. This not only includes the sound system (speakers, amplifiers, processors, and microphones), it also includes the music delivery system (cassettes, cd's, digital file format). You should hire a disc jockey that utilizes professional grade, quality equipment.

On the issue of music, your disc jockey should be using legally purchased music, whether it be the actual media (cd's or cassettes) and/or digitally extracted versions of said media. "That Music Guy" employs a digital music delivery system. Music is played utilizing "Virtual DJ"; the industy's leading performance software. This software allows the user to create customized play lists; as well, music tracks can be located within seconds, allowing more flexibility when it comes to programming of music and playing of requests. A further benefit using this software is that it gives your Disc Jockey/Master of Ceremonies more time to interact with you and your guests.

Utilizing CPS technology has allowed us to substantially reduce the space needed for set up of equipment. Gone are the days, when a disc jockey would fill two table tops full of equipment; wires and extension cords running everywhere…. Our equipment is racked in a professional case and sits on a four foot by two foot table hidden from plain view by a facade.

Our CPS has redundancy built in, so that in the unlikely event of some sort of equipment failure, equipment can be switched very quickly, leading to little or no interruption of your event. Every critical aspect of our set-up has a back-up contingency, including speakers. Equipment failure is virtually non-existent. That being said, we are prepared.

Our equipment is designed for crowds as small as 50, yet will satisfy crowds of 500. We have access to additional equipment as well, if in fact your particular event warrants it. We are not there to "blast you out", but to provide music at an appropriate, comfortable level. That being said, if you are looking for "club" level sound, we can give you that as well. In the past we've played to crowds that number 600.

We typically employ either two FBT Maxx 6A, or two RCF 310A powered speakers, coupled with a RCF 705AS powered subwoofer, or a comination of both; Our goal is "well rounded" overall sound, not deafening, bass-ridden noise.

Our lighting equipment is designed to be unobtrusive; its purpose is to add ambience and "set the mood", not blind you and your guests, or make you and them nauseous. We use Wiedamark LED pars, Chauvet effect lighting (Kinta, Oceana, Vue 3 and Insignia barrel scanners), as well as ADJ Starballs; the latter adding the classic "mirror ball" effect.

We do not use "strobe" lighting or employ fog and or haze (unless specifically requested and with respect to fog; subject to the venue's approval).

Brand-wise; we utilize names such as: FBT, RCF, Numark, Audio Technica, Dell, Carvin, Chauvet, Hercules, Intel, AMD, Asus, Creative Labs, Averatec, Maxtor, Seagate, Gator Cases, Turtle Beach Audio, Vantec, Samsung, Virtual DJ, Weidamark, American DJ, Gemini..........these manufacturers are all leaders in their respective fields.
